Description
Completed in 1924 by sculpture Jo Mora (1876–1947) these life size figures of three Franciscan monks and an image of the reclining deceased Father Serra along with the California grizzly bear adorn this bronze bier. The Cenotaph (empty tomb monument) is housed at the Carmel Mission (Mission San Carlos Borromeo del Rio Carmelo)
