The bold, wide, flat brush strokes in this painting is simply another way for this artist to look at and interpret the world. She takes delight in the act of seeing the same arrangement in any number of different ways. This way of seeing a pretty vase of flowers struck her with the kind of charm that is comprised of simplified shapes and planes. The colors are subdued and earthy but harmonious with all the colors in the painting mixed together within its quiet, soft shadows.
