Description
This plein air oil painting is charged with immediate and brilliant energy. The relationship between the hot and cool colors projected on the rolling waves and sweeping sunset gives this work an emotion that is lively and uplifting. The painting was created during a late summer stay at the artist's getaway beach house in north San Diego County.

"I was struck by the vibrant array of bright reds and oranges in the sky contrasted by the calmness of the ocean. The sunset was one of the most colorful and beautiful I have ever experienced and appeared to glow."
