Artist Statement
"The word Formosa means beautifully formed, or shapely. The Formosa Cafe in West Hollywood is famous for its old Hollywood glamor and celebrity clientele (like Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and Humphrey Bogart). For over 25 years, I have been captivated by the LA landscape and it's architectural forms, and I liked the idea of making my Formosa painting as though it was a movie moment containing an unspoken narrative between characters."
