Artist Statement
"When I was a student in Guangzhou Academy of fine Art, We always explore the countryside area after school, looking for painting subjects.Pearl River Delta was mainly an agriculture region. our favorite subjects are the people living in the small villages along Pearl River and its small branches. The people, the farmers houses, small boats, are all so charming. Since 1980, the region have changed a lot. It moves rapidly into a modern one with the booming of the manufacture industries, it become one of the richest area in the country. The old lifestyle gave way to the new. I feel that it only live in my memory. That is why when I have a chance to catch whatever left of the past , I feel urgent to record it."
