Description
In Complicit, Gottlieb captures a subtle and roguish glance in mid-conversation. The viewer is instantly compelled by the young woman's expression and wonders about potential intrigue and possible outcomes.
Definition of Piambura: Through the artist’s ability to render a translucent quality in oil, Gottlieb has mastered a technique which he has termed as piambura. The word is derived from the Italian piombo, meaning lead, as in the basis of white paint, and the Italian feminine suffix, ura.
