Artist Statement
“I have often wondered where inspiration for a painting originates – the internal or external?  While the external holds a vast array of possibilities and may spark inspiration, it is the individual contemplative state that identifies and then translates the essence of a personal observation into a visual statement for others to experience.
What would encourage a contemplative state more than the gentle rocking of the ocean? Watching a moonrise? Observing flocks of birds in flight? Or possibly being miles away from technology, devices and the bustle of daily life?  For me, there was a singularity of all of these components faceted together into an enchanting moment of brevity and serenity.”
