Description
As Veronica wipes the face of Jesus she receives from the impression the image of Christ’s face on a cloth. The scene reminds us of the sixth Beatitude: “Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God.” The word Veronica may actually have originated to mean the true image of God. Vera meaning true and icon meaning image.
