Artist Statement
“This painting began from studies made while on a mule pack trip to the High Sierra. We camped at Hungry Packer Lake in the John Muir Wilderness. I was struck by how white the granite was in this area. John Muir called the Sierra the “Range of Light” and these stark but beautiful rocks certainly do shine.”
