Artist Statement
"My goal was to explore the quiet emergence of form from darkness and the sustaining role of beauty within that threshold. The niche functions as both a physical and psychological space, an interior realm from which life and color gradually reveal themselves through light. I used the parrot, partially enveloped by shadow while drawing nourishment from the bright red cherries, to explore how living beings respond instinctively to beauty as sustenance. Color, form, and light are not decorative elements here but are sources of vitality."
