Artist Statement
"Painted plein air at Rancho Camulos near Piru, CA. The orchards and gardens feature a variety of heritage roses that date to the site's 1850 founding. While visiting here, Helen Hunt Jackson wrote her early novel, "Ramona." Several of my friends participate in a yearly recreation of an Impressionist picnic, where they patiently pose for my brushwork.!"
