Artist Statement
"This painting was created on location in a howling wind. The surf was big and powerful and the sun’s reflective glare on the ocean produced an almost blinding effect. It was that particular mood that I strove to capture. It is exciting and exhilarating to be in nature and battling the elements of harsh wind and glare while trying to create a work of art that reflects the spirit of the scene in front of you. That’s one reason I loved doing this painting and a reason why this work will always make me smile."
