Artist Statement
“While staying at a friend’s cattle ranch situated at the base of Mt. Shasta, the ever-looming clouds that typically hover over this isolated volcanic peak finally cleared and showed me the enormity of its scale and how it dwarfs everything in its shadow. With this painting I wanted to show Mt. Shasta’s sheer magnitude as a simple and straightforward expression of nature.”
