One of the most famous and recognizable tourist attractions in the world, St. Mark's Square in Venice, Italy, is where people gather to see and be seen. Referred to by Venetians simply as "La Piazza" (the Square), this location is steeped in centuries of history, political intrigue, and romantic interludes. With this painting, Jove Wang brings a feeling of mystery by emphasizing shadows cast by the surrounding buildings while the setting sun illuminates St Mark's Basilica and the neighboring Doge's Palace.
